![]() MVYC Social ActivitiesMVYC's social calendar offers every family member a range of entertainment options, formal and informal, adult-only and family, year-round. The Club's two formal events are Commissioning Day in May and the Commodore's Ball in November. Other traditional semiformal events include the Christmas and New Year's Eve parties. However, the great majority of MVYC "get together" are a unique tradition of planned and unplanned highly informal event. On most Fridays and many Saturdays, something interesting is almost always going on. During the summer period, Friday night might mean adult-only Splash Parties with setups and potluck entrees by the pool. At other times it might be a party for all the family. In winter, TGIF (Thank God Its Friday) parties are often held in the Clubhouse with activities ranging from fireside chats to square dancing. Major Clubhouse party events based on seasonal or holiday themes, such as St Patrick's Day and July 4th, and a schedule of teenage social events are held from time to time. "Little People" have their own parties at Halloween, Easter and, of course, the children's Christmas Party. It should be evident that any member can comfortably find both a favorite social function and social niche at MVYC. |
